It appears that Sanitas Commission brought to light facts as to the existence of corruption. Criminal actions were instituted against Ward & Cowley; Former was acquitted, latter dismissed after leaving Colony without permission.
Ward has been suspended after trial before free & fair confirmation by the Governor. Either action to be brought against Mr. Cottingham.
(Minutes) We are concerned that when the charges against Ward were acquitted, the Executive Council was accepting evidence, which the courts did not admit.
There are rumours of other charges which were not taken before the Courts. On four of these charges the Council were unanimously for conviction – on the other two only one member voted in favour of Ward.
